On the 25th June last the sngineer-in-Chief reported
that on the 23rd and 24th instant he had mede a thorough
inspection of the traek and had found the sleepers in a
deplorable condition, so that he had telegraphed the
Maneger and Chief Engineer of the British Section that a
apood rest ion of not more than 26 miles an hour was
imposed from the 26th June. kr.

understood that the Managing Director had notified the
Ministry repeatedly since last December that this would
